About Janet

Psychology that sees the whole person.

A registered clinical psychologist and certified rTMS practitioner, working from a foundation of academic rigour, hospital-floor experience and genuine care for the people in front of her.

“A space to feel heard, understood and gently challenged toward your true north.”

Janet's path into psychology started long before the certificates did. It began with a fascination for why people think, feel and relate the way they do, and a First-Class Honours degree from Chuka University turned that fascination into a discipline.

Since then, her work has moved through some of the settings where psychology is needed most directly: hospital floors, care teams and client-facing roles at Beta Care Hospital and Mercylight Hospital, where therapy sits alongside medicine, administration and the everyday realities of people trying to get well. That experience shaped the way she practises now: attentive to the person, not just the presenting problem, and comfortable working as part of a wider care team rather than in isolation.

A specialisation in rTMS

In 2026, Janet trained and certified as an rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) practitioner through the Academy of Brain Stimulation (AoBS), an institution specialising in transcranial magnetic stimulation education internationally. The course covered patient screening, protocol design and safe treatment delivery. Training continued with hands-on practicals under specialists from Naya Health, a neuroplasticity clinic based in London. Read more about that training on the rTMS treatment page.

She now delivers rTMS treatment at Jivan Wellness in Nairobi, guiding clients through the full journey from initial assessment to aftercare, alongside her ongoing work as a psychologist offering individual, couples and group therapy.

What she brings to a session

  • Individual, couples and group therapy across a range of presenting concerns
  • Client assessment, screening and care coordination
  • rTMS protocol design and treatment delivery, from intake to aftercare
  • Careful, organised documentation and follow-through between sessions
  • Experience supporting adolescents, young adults, women and high-functioning professionals
  • A continued commitment to training, from clinical practicals to workplace safety and first-aid certification

Outside the therapy room

Janet stays active in Kenya's health community, from clinical trainings and doctors' breakfasts focused on rTMS, to events connecting women across the healthcare sector. Some of that is written up on the blog, where she shares reflections on the training, people and moments that continue to shape how she practises.
