Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Sessions are confidential in line with professional and ethical guidelines. The only exceptions are situations involving risk of serious harm, which will always be discussed with you directly wherever possible.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. In-person sessions are available in Kiambu, rTMS treatment is delivered at Jivan Wellness in Nairobi, and online sessions are offered for clients elsewhere in Kenya or abroad.
What happens in a first session?
The first session is an opportunity to talk through what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and get a feel for how Janet works, so you can decide together on a suitable direction.
How long does therapy typically take?
This varies by person and goals. Some clients attend a short series of sessions around a specific issue, while others prefer ongoing, longer-term support. This is reviewed together as you go.
rTMS
Starting rTMS
Is rTMS painful, and does it require downtime?
No. rTMS is non-invasive, with no surgery, sedation or anaesthetic. Most clients describe the sensation as a light tapping against the scalp. You sit in a chair for the session and are free to carry on with your day afterward.
Who is rTMS suitable for?
rTMS is often considered by people who haven't found lasting relief through therapy or medication for depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, fatigue or migraine. Suitability is confirmed through an initial assessment. Read more on the rTMS treatment page.
Where is rTMS delivered?
Janet delivers rTMS treatment at Jivan Wellness in Nairobi, guiding clients through the full journey from initial assessment to aftercare.
